I can’t find a recommendation about needing to test 2 hours after a meal and my DN said they don’t monitor levels after a meal.

Yes, you can digest slowly… I usually start learning at the 3 hour mark Next time I can hypo at the 1 hour mark after eating Definitely unexpected However, if you regularly get high readings, you may need to adjust your carbohydrate intake or your insulin dose.

Tbh I feel a little neglected I can’t pinpoint when I learn after eating, but most of the time my BG before eating is within the acceptable range So far, only lunch remains expensive However, since insulin is replaced by injections and mimics normal pancreatic function, this does not mean that having high levels 2-3 hours after a meal is just an individual trait. Or those who say that the level should be lowered precisely at that point?
I want to minimize any associated risk and this issue worries me a bit.

If I have problems what do I do 1 hour after eating, 2 hours, then 3 hours, sometimes 4 hours test. If you only have it with lunch…is your carb intake higher than other meals? Or maybe you need more bolus insulin with meals I think if your evening levels are fine then it’s probably not your basal insulin…again I’m not sure if you take it. I take my dose every day at 8.30pm and I can tell that the lantus I take wears off after the 18 hour mark….even though it should last 24 hours. What I noticed was more sugar in the evening so I had to have more bolus with my food I hope you can figure out the reason and get your levels back to an appropriate range good luck
I always study in 2 hours and there is no change in my BG in one hour I think @Meep said my digestion is slow or maybe it’s because of the low carb and protein diet? I’m still curious to know what peaks people with a1c around 5% see after eating? I usually stay between 5 and 7 (day/night). What should I expect my a1c level to be? Is it normal to have a peak of 7 mmol/l at a 12-15 carb meal or does it drop to 6 mmol/l within an hour after the peak? Any interesting experiments?
It has been documented that damage starts to occur around the 7.8 mark so I use that as my maximum. Many of us here also try not to exceed 2mmol between pre and postprandial and we tend to consume no more than 2 hours to 90 minutes apart.
